School Childcare Coordinator, Part-time (option for FT if combined roles) 

St. Bart's Catholic School is in search of a School Age Child Care Coordinator for our before and after school program called “Clubhouse”. 


The position is part-time, 20-25 hours per week, but has the option to be full-time 40 hours if combined with para-professional responsibilities during the school day.

Schedule:  Monday - Friday; 10 months; hours will vary

Program hours: 6:45 am - 8:15 am; and 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm 

Coordinator will work 2-3 morning shifts and 2-3 afternoon shifts and will be responsible to fill-in as needed based on staffing. Additional planning and preparation time will be scheduled in alignment with the program shift. Morning enrollment is 10-15 students and afternoon enrollment is 25-35 students.


Salary:  Based on qualifications and commensurate with the Catholic school market


Job Description:

St. Bart’s School is seeking a dynamic person who is ready to serve students and families in our school childcare program, Clubhouse, is a safe, enjoyable environment. Clubhouse offers students active play time, games, legos, crafts, quiet time (homework/reading), STEM activities, and outdoor activities.

The Coordinator is responsible for student safety, leading structured activities, monitoring gym, outside activities, and free choice time, administering first aid, assisting with student daily departures, and maintaining a safe, organized, and joyful care environment. The coordinator hires, schedules, and leads staff and plans all program details. (50% office time/50% student contact time)

A successful candidate will enjoy elementary age children and provide for kids after school each day school is in session and on several non-school days.


Essential Job Functions

  • Maintain safety protocols and account for student safety at all times.

  • Maintain a clean, attractive, and well-organized space for children.

  • Advertise and communicate all program details with parents and appropriate staff.

  • Hire, train, and supervise adult staff, and high school student-workers.

  • Schedule employees to appropriately cover all program needs.

  • Plan, coordinate, and maintain registration of students.

  • Track attendance and report tuition to accounting staff for billing.

  • Lead and maintain a positive environment that encourages appropriate conduct and behavior according to the Clubhouse Handbook.

  • Maintain regular communication with school administration, office staff, and Clubhouse staff.


Qualifications

  • At least 21 years old (required)

  • Experience working with children (preferred)

  • Ability to implement effective classroom management strategies

  • Familiarity with Google Suite and other software applications

  • Effective oral communication skills

  • Able to take initiative while fostering teamwork and collaboration

  • Integrity in handling confidential and/or sensitive information and situations

  • CPR and First Aid certified within 90 days of hire

  • Must complete and comply with the Archdiocesan Safe Environment requirements: Background Check, VIRTUS training, (child safety training) and sign the Code of Conduct for Employees
